Class Descriptions
Dancers Ages 18mos-3years:
Tiny Tots (ages 18mos-2yrs)
Boys and Girls ages 18mos-2yrs are invited to participate in this 30 minute class. Through movement and music, dancers will develop coordination, musicality and listening skills. In order to develop independence, parents may enter class with the student but are encouraged to leave the classroom once the student is comfortable.
Creative Movements/Tumble (ages 2-3)
Boys and Girls ages 2-3 are invited to participate in this 45 minute class. Through movement and music, dancers will develop coordination, musicality and listening skills. In order to develop independence, parents may enter class with the student but are encouraged to leave the classroom once the student is comfortable.
Dancers Ages 3-5 years:
Ballet/Jazz/Tap (ages 3-4)
For first year students ages 3-4. This class will explore basic ballet, jazz and tap technique. Every class will include stretching, class etiquette, proper ballet/jazz/tap vocabulary, rhythm, coordination and listening skills. Classes are designed to inspire self-confidence, independence and creativity.
Ballet/Tap/Tumble (ages 3-4)
For first year students ages 3-4. This class will explore basic ballet, tap and tumble technique. Every class will include stretching, class etiquette, proper ballet/tap vocabulary, rhythm, coordination and listening skills. Students will work on basic tumbling skills including forward rolls, bridges, handstands, balance, flexibility and strength. Classes are designed to inspire self-confidence, independence and creativity.
Hip Hop (ages 3-4)
An urban form of dance that evolved into a structured class. Movement is low to the ground and influenced by today’s youth culture. Hip Hop includes techniques of basic movement and combinations. These classes are designed for a student who enjoys Hip Hop dance and takes less than 3 hours weekly. No dance experience required.
Ballet/Jazz/Tap (ages 4-5)
For students ages 4 with dance experience and new students ages 5. This class will explore basic ballet, jazz and tap technique in more depth. Emphasis will be placed on a more extensive vocabulary and the importance of class etiquette. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills. Classes are designed to inspire self-confidence, independence and creativity.
Ballet/Tap/Tumble (ages 4-5)
For students ages 4 with dance experience and new students ages 5. This class will explore basic ballet, tap and tumble technique in more depth. Emphasis will be placed on a more extensive vocabulary and the importance of class etiquette. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills. Students will work on basic tumbling skills including forward/backward rolls, bridges, handstands, balance, back walk overs, cartwheel, flexibility and strength. Classes are designed to inspire self-confidence, independence and creativity.
Dancers Ages 5-6 yrs:
Ballet/Tap/Tumble
For students ages 5 with dance experience and new students ages 6. This class will explore tap and ballet technique with more detail as well as introduce students to basic Tumble movement. Dancers will learn proper ballet, tap, and tumble terminology. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills.
Ballet/Jazz
For students ages 5-6. These classes are for our beginner dancers. These classes will explore Jazz and Ballet technique with more detail as well as introduce beginner students to basic technique and continue our dance education. Dancers will learn proper Ballet and Jazz terminology. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills.
Ballet/Contemporary
For students ages 5-6. These classes are for our beginner dancers. These classes will explore Ballet and Contemporary technique with more detail as well as introduce beginner students to basic technique and continue our dance education. Dancers will learn proper terminology. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills as well as learning off center work, floor work, self-expression, and a deliberate use of gravity.
Tap/Hip Hop
For students ages 5-6. These classes are for our beginner dancers. These classes will explore Tap and Hip Hop technique with more detail as well as introduce beginner students to basic technique and continue our dance education.. Dancers will learn proper Tap and Hip Hop terminology. Every class will include stretching, rhythm, coordination and listening skills.

Floor tumble technique for dance and cheer. Students learn Acro tricks such as cartwheel, basic rolls, roundoff, front and back walkover, front and back handspring, back tuck and much more. The class also focuses on flexibility and core strength.

Dancers Ages 10+yrs:
These classes are for our beginner and intermediate level students. For advanced classes ages 10+ please see our advanced track class description.
Ballet classes
A classical form of technical dance characterized by proper ballet steps and poses. Steps are based on turned out positions of the legs.
Jazz classes
A form of dance based on technique, using isolations, rhythms, and contrasting movements. Steps are based on mostly parallel positions of the legs. Includes styles such as Latin, contemporary, funk, Broadway and pop.
Tap Classes
A percussive form of dance based upon the use of metal plates on leather shoes. Steps include syncopation and rhythms and can be technical or improvised.
Hip Hop

Advanced Classes for Dancers Ages 10+yrs:
Ballet Classes
For experienced dancers. These classes are designed for students beginning and continuing a dedicated path in dance. Students should take more than 3 hours of dance weekly. Dance experience required. Level placement will be determined by audition.
Pre-Pointe
For experienced dancers in Ballet interested in progressing to Pointe. These classes are by teacher recommendation only.
Pointe 1/Demi Pointe, Pointe 2 and Pointe 3
For experienced dancers in Ballet/Pointe. These classes are by teacher recommendation only and levels will be assigned by our Ballet staff.
Jazz Classes
For experienced dancers. These classes are designed for students beginning and continuing a dedicated path in dance. Dance experience required. Level placement will be determined by audition.
Tap Classes
