Kristen Holland
Burgess
Owner, Dance Instructor,
Aerobics & Pilates Instructor
Competitive Dance Program Director
Kristen acquired a B.A. in Business Psychology from Christopher
Newport University, while studying dance at Old Dominion University.
She taught dance for five years at South of Broadway School
of dance (Carrollton, Va) where she was the Show Team director.
While attending
CNU, Kristen was a member of the performing dance team as well
as choreographed dance portions for the play Dicken’s Christmas
Village. Kristen has also participated in various dance conventions
on the East coast and developed award winning choreography. As
a certified group exercise instructor through the Red Cross and
the YMCA, Kristen is certified in CPR and AED. |

Chrissy Schoenster
Ballet, Tap, Jaz, Gymnastics/ Cheer and Baton Instructor
Chrissy Weih Schoenster, a mother of five children, has a B. A.
in Elementary Education and has been teaching dance and gymnastics
for over 20 years at various locations such as Langley Air Force
Base, Ft. Monroe, Ft. Eustis, Margie William’s School of
Dance (Grafton , VA) and South of Broadway (Carrollton, VA). She
studied ballet, tap, jazz, baton and gymnastics for over 13 years
at the Weih School of Dance (Newport News). An enthusiastic promoter
of dance and gymnastics, she has participated in a variety of dance
conventions and USGF & USAG Gymnastic Camps. |

Jurijs Safonovs
Ballet Instructor
Jurijs Safonovs has been a principal dancer at the Virginia Ballet Theatre and Lativan National Opera. He has danced in the following productions “Nutcracker”, “Coppelia”, “Dracula” ,“Sleeping Beauty”, “Romeo & Juliet”, “Cinderella”, “Sinatra Suite”, “Serenade”, “Allegro Brilliante”, “Combat”, “Don Quixote”, “Swan Lake”, “Giselle”, “La Sylfide”, “Les Sylfide”, “Le Corsaire”, “La Bayadere”, “Spectre de la Rose”, “Scheherezade”, “Raymonda Variations”, “Paquita”, “Firebird”. Jurijs also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical & Modern Ballet Dance from Riga’s National Choreographic Collage located in Lativa. |

Lauren Vann
West
Modern Dance / Lyrical / Tap / Hip Hop Instructor
Lauren Vann West, a native of Smithfield, Virginia, has recently received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with a concentration in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts. Upon graduation, Lauren traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica to study Modern Dance, Choreography, and Lighting Design. There she had the opportunity to perform choreography by Scott Putman as well as present her own choreography at the National Auditorium in San Jose. Currently, Lauren is a company member of a modern dance company, Amaranth, under the direction of Scott Putman. Lauren finds vitality and fulfillment in life through the artistry of dance and choreography. |

Lora Saunders
Ballet/Pointe Instructor
Lora is a graduate from the Governor’s
School of Performing Arts. She
has participated in various ballet productions including La Bayadere,
Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. She was also a
member of the cast of Virginia Ballet Theatre’s production
of the Nutcracker for two seasons. Prior to her time at Governor’s
School she trained in area studios for 11 years. During
her time at these studios she competed at various competitions
and won awards ranging from Most Beautiful Dancer to Junior Sweetheart. She
is certified in First-Aid, CPR, and AED. |

Amanda Solberg
Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz
Amanda is currently studing to get her Dance Education Degree from Old Dominion University. Her choreogrphy has been showcased in may ODU productions and she has performed in many UDT productions.She has been studing dance for 16 years in dance studios all around the east coast. Amanda has competed for 11 years and has won numerous awards. Her pointe routine landed her best talent in area beauty pageants. |

Samantha Wyatt
Jazz, Hip Hop, Gymnastics
Sammi has recently been chosen to premier on the Fever television show. She was chosen out of 800 dancers. Sammi has been studing dance for 11 years. She has competed on the Dynamic Movements Dance Team for 4 years winning titles such as Best Overall at nationals and Grand Champion of the day for her student choreography. Sammi has also studied at workshops with dance greats such as Barry Youngblood & Duffy Johnson. She has been student teaching for 3 years and has earned her Dynamic Movements Teaching Certificate. |

Lacey Tuttle
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Gymnastics combo children’s classes
Lacey is currently taking classes in early childhood development and is working to become a school teacher. Lacey has been studing dance at local dance schools for 10 years. She has been a member of the Dynamic Dance Team for 2 years. Lacey has competed in solo & group divisions winning many gold and platinum awards as well as earning the champion of the day title. She has also performed in various productions in the area. In her spare time she expands her dance knowledge by taking local workshops taught by the area’s best! Lacey has been a student teacher for 2 years and has completed her Dynamic Movements Teaching Certificate. |

Tara Muth
Ballet, Tap
Tara began her dance training 11 years ago in local dance studios. Tara has been on the Dynamic Dance Team for 4 years. She has won the best overall title at nationals & the grand champion title at regionals. She has performed in several community shows and productions. Tara has perfected her dance ability by taking class with dance greats such as Barry Youngblood, Duffy Johnson, and Dustin Phillips.In her spare time Tara is currently taking the teacher cadet course working with children. Tara has been student assitanting for 3 years and has completed her Dynamic Movements Teaching Certificate. |

Duffy Johnson
Hip-Hop Workshop Instructor
Duffy Johnson grew up “hip-hoppin” in his hometown
of Erwin, N.C. and now makes his home in The big “D” Dallas,
Texas. Duffy has been instructed by the great Jerry Rose,
Barry Youngblood, Barry Lather, and numerous other dance greats. He
has traveled the world dancing and singing making his start in
local theme parks-Kings Dominion in Richmond, V.A. and Kings
Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has also entertained audiences
on numerous cruise ships worldwide and has toured Europe
as an entertainer in various touring companies and shows. While
continuing to dance, Duffy started to choreograph for many of
the top studios across the United States. He has choreographed
for professional and college dance teams and his choreography
and performances can be seen on ESPN, Fox Family Channel, ABC,
PBS, and NBC. His choreography has won numerous national
awards. Duffy’s classes are slamming with energy and
fun, making him one of America’s most sought after hip-hop
teachers. |

Jon Green
Ballroom / Chicago Style Steppin / Country Line Dance
Workshop
Instructor
As a young child, Jonathan played the drums and choreographed
dance routines with his sister and neighborhood friends in Chicago.
In high school he was accepted into Marian Catholic High School's
nationally ranked marching band and performed in other school dance
groups and bands at the same time. At St. Joseph's College he accepted
a music scholarship where he exemplified leadership as a captain
of most bands and produced as well as performed in winning collegiate
talent contest shows. Since graduation Jonathan has diligently
studied, in various parts of the country, all types of dance including
waltz, tango, foxtrot, salsa, merengue, cha-cha, swing, hip hop,
rumba, Chicago style steppin, and more. Teaching the art of dance
in both group and private settings, he currently works in the Tidewater
area six days a week. Jon still loves to perform and recently has
done so everywhere from the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach to MTV's
My Super Sweet Sixteen television show; in addition, he has entertained
in ballroom showcases, weddings and other events. |
